How to develop Thinking Skills.


Thinking is the highest mental activity present in man. All human achievements and progress are simply the products of thoughts. Thoughts and actions are inseperable. They are actually the two sides of the same coin. All our deliberate actions start from our deliberate thinking. for a man to do something, he should first see it in his mind's eye, he should imagine it , think about it first before he can do it.


To increase our thinking skills here are few tips -


1. Ask more questions.
2.Look beyond the words on a piece of paper.
3. Work with groups when solving a problem.
4. Think outside the box when solving a problem , think of the most absurd solution.
5. Look back on your experience and think how you dealt with it.
6. Do brainstorming.
7. Generate as many ideas responses, solutions on a given task.
8. Get a feedback on the solutions you decide on from others.
9. Try to think what solutions someone else may offer for your problems.
10. Last but not the least self confidence and positive attitude.


Never forget that a creative thinker is said who may not evolve new ideas but evolve new combination of ideas. Wish you a very happy thinking.

Reading is a passion. Reading is a hobby. Reading is a habit. Reading is a skill. Once we get hooked to reading the time spent on reading books will become your favourite activity. Like any other skill, reading habit can also be improved. Here are few tips to improve your reading habits.


1. Sit in a comfortable posture.
2. Buy books with pictures.
3. Read regularly.
4. Read aloud.
5. Buy books.
6. Gift books on birthdays.
7. Set target for reading.
8. Visit library and see various titles.
9. Always have a book around.
10.Make a list of books you want to read.
11.Reduse T.V. or Internet.
12.Read in group.
13.Read in chunks of text not word for word.


A good reading habit can become an addiction which will enhance your knowledge, vocabulary, concentration, I.Q., analytical skill and once you have mastered this skill you will never complain about lonliness.

Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow.
Jammu and Kashmir lies in the lap of the Himalaya mountains. The Mughal emperor, Jhangir, called it a “Heaven on Earth”. The capital of Jammu and Kashmir is Srinagar in summer and Jammu in winter.
